For camera owners

Answer footage requests in minutes, not weeks.

People use Mementote to ask for security-camera footage of themselves. Every request links here, with exact times, camera locations and a photo of the person, so you can find the clips, send them, and keep a record that you answered on time. It’s free for owners.

Answering one request

About two minutes once you have the clips. No account.
01

Open the link in the email

One link per request, just for that request. It shows the times, the cameras and a photo of the person.

02

Find the minutes asked for

Every request has the same shape: the law, the deadline, one line per camera. Windows are a few minutes long, to the second, in local time and UTC.

03

Send the clips, or say why not

Drop the files in. If the connection drops, nothing sent is lost. Or say it’s deleted, the person isn’t in it, or you need more time.

04

Keep the record

Every answer is time-stamped. Print or save the record for your files.

How request links work

  1. Each request email carries one link, just for that request.
  2. The link needs no account. It shows only what the request needs: time windows, camera locations, a reference photo and the signed authorization.
  3. It never shows the person’s name or anywhere else they went.
  4. Links expire, and can be revoked. If yours stopped working, reply to the email.
  5. If your process requires it, ask the person to confirm. They approve on their phone and you see the result.

Get a lot of requests?

Chains, transit and city agencies can claim their organization and get an inbox: every request, every deadline, a team with roles, and an audit log. You’ll need the reference and link from one request you received.

Claim your organization
Mementote files requests as the authorized agent of the person in the footage, for footage of them only. This portal is free, is run separately from any advocacy or legal action, and nothing here routes to law enforcement.
